Setting Boundaries with Addicts

We admitted that we were powerless over our Addiction and that our lives had become unmanageable.

We found out that we were powerless over our body, mind, stuff, things, thoughts, words, deeds, and were full of idols taking us away from God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. We saw that our lives looked like a dirty toilet. WE discovered that WE needed Jesus to clean us up and we became ready to let Him.

We came to believe that a power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity.

We were overwhelmed on our own, with the messes that we had created by living untethered on our own. Our body was out of order, our home was a disaster, our car was disorganized, our office was a mess, our family was in turmoil, our kids were out of control. We became ready to Let God sort and tidy up our mind, body, spirit and soul, words, environments so that we could believe in hope again.

Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God as we understood God. 

What we tried to do on our own failed, miserably failed, over and over. The lying, stealing, cheating, manipulating, didn't work. We are ready to turn to God to let Him lead. And while we were surrendering we realized we didn't even know who God was or what God expected from us. We were so far away from honoring the Ten Commandments. We had not read the Bible for quite some time. We were not going to church or connected into community. WE got on our knees and began to pray. We began to ASK, SEEK, KNOCK waiting for Jesus to show up and comfort us.

We made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves. 

We admitted to ourselves all our stuff positive and negative that we saw was hurting and helping on paper -- our ICKYness, overeating, weight gain, shortcomings , sexual promiscuity, procrastination, debt, bad habits AND saw our beauty, skills and talents, writing skills, creativity, perserverence, great smile...) WE saw the curses we were under. WE shared gratiitude for the roof over our head, true friends, food on the table, and most importantly WE saw Gods' grace and mercy.

Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God as we understood God, praying only for knowledge of God's will for us and the power to carry that out. 

Praying is talking to God and having a personal relationship with Him. Listening and waiting on God to reveal Himself personally to you is Meditating. If we want God's blessings then we need need to stay inside of God's Will, trusting on Jesus, becoming more like Jesus.

Having had a spiritual awakening as a result of these steps, we tried to carry this message to addicts, to others and to practice these principles in all our affairs.

When your eyes get opened and you see the truth so clearly, and your Light or Lamp is on, that Jesus Yeshua Messiah The Christ  is the way the truth and the life, you have to share it. I am continuously brought to my knees and humbled by what God Yehovah has done by having His own Son, Jesus, Yeshua, Messiah, a perfect being sacrificed as the Lamb who takes way all the sins of the world, even my sins. We can all be delivered from our hurts, habits and hangups, one day at time as we each cultivate a personal relationship with the LORD so that we can live reasonably happy on earth and forever happy in eternal life.
